This is a little further a field at Giverny, about 2½ - 3 hours drive from Le Deshayes – but well worth the effort.
THE CLAUDE MONET FOUNDATION AT GIVERNY
"A pilgrimage to this flower-decked shrine is vital for all those seeking to better understand the Master, plumb the depths of his inspiration and imagine him still living on among us."

The painter Claude Monet’s house and studio face the Clos Normand garden – a dazzling palette of colour. The water garden with its Japanese bridge and water lilies recreates the beauty that so inspired the painter. The excellent website gives much more information.
